It was anything but a drag!
"Today" show hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb braved triple digit temperatures in Rehoboth Beach, Del., on Friday, July 22, when they joined a group of drag volleyball players and fans for a couple of matches.
Gifford and Kotb, who both have family ties to the area, were in Rehoboth Beach to promote their respective books.
Vocal supporters of the LGBT community, the women invited members of Rehoboth Beach's famed drag volleyball teams to join them on the beach for a brief game. The event was taped and is scheduled to air during their segment of the "Today" show on Thursday, July 28.
The drag volleyball teams have been competing every Labor Day weekend for more than two decades. The event has grown over the years and draws hundreds of gay and straight spectators. This year's game will mark its 23rd year on the beach.
