Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia

The first "Behind Enemy Lines" movie was no classic, but it did have a solid cast including Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman and had good production values. There's no such luck this time. This bargain basement direct-to-DVD sequel features awful acting and some terrible action scenes. The story is barely enough to keep even undiscerning insomniacs awake. The film was co-produced by WWE Films and stars a WWE superstar wrestler named Mr. Kennedy, whose acting makes The Rock look like Al Pacino.

A group of Navy S.E.A.L.S. are framed for murder and find themselves on the run in Colombia. That's pretty much the entire plot. The "twists" are beyond predictable and there's not even an exciting action scene along the way. The film is directed with zero style (the first movie had loads of it) and the video quality on the DVD is average at best. The extras consist of mind-numbing promotional stuff we've seen over and over in the past. WWE wrestling fans may enjoy the featurette on Mr. Kennedy, but everyone else will be hard-pressed to find anything worthwhile on the disc at all.

"Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia" doesn't even qualify as an entertaining time waster. The plot and acting are awful and the action scenes are directed with a noticeable lack of skill. This is the kind of film best left for a rainy Sunday afternoon watched on cable TV when there's nothing else on whatsoever and both your legs are broken and in casts. Even pets left home alone with the TV on deserve better than this nonsense.
