Beyoncé just might have recorded a cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" that we didn't know we needed--at least according to the country icon.
As reported by Variety, there are yet a few weeks left before Queen Bey graces us with "Act 2," Parton has let it slip that she might just have a part in the project.
After Beyoncé dropped singles "Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages," Parton said she might have covered her 1973 classic "Jolene" as well.
"Well, I think she has! I think she's recorded 'Jolene' and I think it's probably gonna be on her country album, which I'm very excited about that," Parton said Knox News. "I love her! She's a beautiful girl and a great singer."
Apparently, they've been in contact.
"We've kind of sent messages back and forth through the years," Parton said. "And she and her mother were like fans, and I was always touched that they were fans, and I always thought she was great."
When Beyoncé became the first Black woman to top Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart when "Texas Hold 'Em," Parton, arguably the Queen of Country, also posted a message supporting Beyoncé's turn of genre.
"I'm a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she's done a country album," she wrote on Instagram. "So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can't wait to hear the full album!"
Look for Beyoncé's "Act 2" on March 29.
