What is the Cast of 'Queer as Folk' Up to Today?

Timothy Rawles READ TIME: 9 MIN.

Scott Lowell (Ted Schmidt)

Lowell's character Ted was the victim of 2000s gay culture (and ageism), or at least he plays it that way. He thinks he is unattractive and undesirable even though early on the evidence shows otherwise.

Today, Lowell is a board member of the Tyler Clementi Foundation, a non-profit that aims to end online and offline bullying. The actor is straight and often appears in TV series, his latest is "The Blank's YPF," an anthology series based on works from young writers.

Thea Gill (Lindsay Peterson)

Gill is a bisexual Canadian actress who played one-half of the lesbian couple in "Queer as Folk." She is currently married to author Gina Glass, and they have been together for 10 years. On social media, the actress left Twitter after the Elon Musk takeover and migrated to Threads where she hasn't been as active. She is also a jazz singer and appeared as Diana on the show "Dante's Cove."

Michelle Clunie (Melanie Marcus)

Like a lot of the former stars of the series, Clunie has taken on some minor movie and television roles in the past few years. Her most regular role was that of Mrs. Finch in the MTV series "Teen Wolf." Nowadays Clunie is mother to her and director Bryan Singer's son Dashiell.

Sharon Gless (Debbie Novotny)

Out of all the stars from the series, besides Hal Sparks, legendary actress Sharon Gless remains the most active on social media and in the industry. The 80-year-old star is out promoting the documentary she produced called "Show Her the Money" and stars in the new Pierce Brosnan action-drama "Fast Charlie." Gless also reunited with her former "Queer" co-star Peter Paige this year to make an appearance in his show "Station 19." Always updating her status on Instagram, the esteemed actor doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon.
