Third Wave Fund To Celebrate 20th Anniversary in Brooklyn
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Third Wave Fund -- the only activist fund led by and for women of color, intersex, queer, and trans folks under 35 years old in the U.S. -- will hold its 20th Anniversary Celebration on Tuesday, May 9th at 6:30 p.m. in Brooklyn, New York.
The event will celebrate the fierce feminists, gender justice activists, donors and community organizations that have been instrumental to Third Wave's work to support young women, transgender and gender non-conforming youth.
Third Wave will honor donor activists Nancy Meyer and Hildy Karp, as well as grantees Charlene Carruthers of Black Youth Project 100 and Paulina Helm-Hernandez of Southerners on New Ground. Third Wave will also be announcing the recipients of its Grow Power Fund long-term grants for general support, capacity building, and coaching for emerging feminist, trans, and queer organizations.
The first feminist fund to include trans women in its mission and programming, Third Wave has been a leader in gender justice, the intersectional movement to end patriarchy, transphobia, homophobia, and misogyny.
Be a part of our 20th Anniversary Celebration on Tuesday, May 9 at BRIC Arts Media in Brooklyn, New York to revel in Third Wave's enduring work to fund youth-led grassroots movements led by young women of color, queer, and trans youth of color.
The event will honor and the grantees who are championing the future of gender and reproductive justice and donor activists who have been instrumental throughout Third Wave's history. Get your tickets today!
